Today I’d like to show you my latest food/grocery item discovery… Tous Les Jours Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix (P248)!
The folks at Tous Les Jours weren’t kidding when they said Must Try!
Yes, Tous Les Jours sells pancake mixes! There are three kinds: Hotteok Mix (P198), Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix (P248), and Pancake Mix (P198).
We got to try the Tous Les Jours Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix.
Although everything on the box is Korean, there’s a sticker with English instructions. You can find the expiry date below it.
One box of pancake mix contains two 250g packs. One pack can make about 5 pancakes.
You just need an egg and some milk to make pancakes with this mix. Actually, you can use water instead of milk but I thought it would have a richer taste with milk so I opted for milk.
Beat the egg with a whisk until fluffy, add milk, beat some more, then add the pancake mix. Can you see all the chocolate chips?
Beat until all the lumps disappear. After that, you can cook pancakes already!
This is what the finished product looks like. It’s soft, fluffy, and chewy plus there are lots of chocolate chips. It has a certain richness and it’s not too sweet. You can eat it without butter and syrup because it’s great as is. That’s exactly how we have it here at home.
We all loved Tous Les Jours Chocolate Chip Pancakes! I’m going back to TLJ to get the regular Pancake Mix and the Hotteok Mix (filled pancakes). This is definitely better than all the local mixes we’ve tried and we’ve tried almost everything that’s available in the supermarket.
Yes, it seems pricier compared to the local pancake mixes at about P100+ per 250g pack (each box contains two) but it’s really a lot better in terms of taste. Still, I should try the regular pancake mix to see how it compares, this one after all has the advantage of being chocolate.
Tous Les Jours Chocolate Chip Pancake Mix is available at P248 per box at all Tous Les Jours outlets and some supermarkets nationwide.
