Beauty wise, aging is such a downer. I mean, who doesn’t want to look young and beautiful forever, right? Case in point, in one of its studies, renowned skin care brand Olay discovered that as a woman ages, her skin becomes dull, fatigued, and dehydrated. One of the reasons for this is Skin Cell Energy as measured by level enzyme of NAPD(H) in cells. The Skin Cell Energy level is high among young people but declines as one grows older. This is where Olay Regenerist comes in.
To address this skin care concern, Olay has come up with the Olay Miracle Duo — Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence and Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream.
Skin Cell Energy is important because it lets skin maintain its radiance, firmness, and hydration. The Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence magnifies the anti-aging actives of your moisturizer to increase skin cell metabolism and renewal. The result? Skin that looks 10 years younger. It works best when used with the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream, hence the moniker Olay Miracle Duo.

So anyway, you know how much of a skin care addict I am. I just HAD to try this Olay Miracle Duo for myself! I’m officially over 40 this year so I know I really need it!
The Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence is, as the name suggests, basically a booster. Most skin care brands have a product like this that is designed to make everything that comes after (moisturizer, serum, etc) work a lot better. Boosters come in different names — pre-serum, pre-essence, etc. Anyhow, after washing my face, I proceeded to give the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence a go. I love that it has a dropper — that way, you don’t contaminate what’s inside the bottle.
The pre-essence is transparent and pleasantly scented. According to the package directions, you need approximately 2 pumps for your entire face. I love how my skin feels right after application — there is an immediate firming and smoothing effect. Your skin looks and feels so nice after you almost feel that the next step isn’t necessary. But we know better, lol!

After applying the pre-essence, the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream comes next. It’s a moisturizer. Now most people think that if they have oily skin, they don’t need moisturizer. Nope, that’s not the way it works. No matter what your skin type is, you will ALWAYS need moisturizer to keep your skin looking and feeling good. You just have to find and use the right one for your skin type. Now I’m over 40 so I need anti-aging ones like this.
So after your skin absorbs the pre-essence, apply the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream focusing on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. If it’s daytime, I let it absorb then top with a sunscreen. If it’s night time, I go right to sleep after applying this.
Zero makeup. Yes. I actually did wake up like this and I’m turning 41.
I’ve been using the Olay Miracle Duo for almost 2 weeks now and I especially love how my face looks and feels in the morning when I wake up!
What I like about the Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Pre-Essence:
- I love the lightweight consistency and gel-like texture.
- It feels cool and refreshing on the skin, perfect for summer!
- It’s lightly scented and not overpowering.
- It immediately makes skin firm, smooth, and bright.
What I like about the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream:
- It’s a cream but it’s not too heavy so you can use it even during the daytime.
- It’s not greasy and it absorbs quickly.
- Like the pre-essence, it’s lightly scented and not overpowering.
- It’s effective as a moisturizer but the best part is leaving it on your skin overnight and waking up the next morning! Your face just looks radiant and young.
If you’re not a fan of complicated multi-step skin care regimens, the Olay Miracle Duo is perfect for you!
