Hubby and I went out to dinner one weekend night. We decided to try Chelsea Market Café at The Podium. We had only been at The Fort branch once and that was a few years ago.
While we were trying to decide what to order, they served complimentary focaccia bread drizzled with olive oil with a whole bulb of cooked garlic on the side. So yummy! I actually wanted another garlic bulb for myself haha.
We decided on Grilled US Sea Scallops ‘Aglio Olio’ Linguine (P695, pictured above). The pasta was delicious, we loved the flavorful combination of olive oil, garlic, and herbs. The scallops were huge, there were 4 pieces in all. What I didn’t like was the fact that the scallops had a somewhat bitter and charred aftertaste, probably because they were quickly grilled at a very high temperature. Not to be nitpicky but if I’m expected to shell out almost P700 for a plate of pasta I’d like everything to be perfect.
Then we had Crisp Citrus-Rosemary Roasted Pork Belly (P495, pictured above), which was highly recommended by our server. I loved the contrast of the exceptionally big and crunchy portions of pork belly which was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, citrusy sauce, and candied fruits. Now this was a perfect dish! We finished everything to the last bite, including the asparagus stalks! 😀
