First of all, Happy Chinese New Year! My Apple iPad just got a new um… Home? Accessory? Bag?
It’s Crumpler’s Chinese New Year 2011 edition Herbas bag which is designed to encase your iPad perfectly. I was actually skeptical at first because it looked so slim and small. It’s all red, the color of good fortune and joy for the Chinese. I’m Chinese and so I know it all too well — we always wear red during birthdays and Chinese New Year to celebrate the happy occasion and to hopefully attract good luck, hehe. 😀
As an accent, the Crumpler logo is in gold. I swear, my CNY 2011 edition Crumpler Herbas bag reminds me of an ang pao or a red packet (usually with gold stamping) containing money that’s usually given out during special occasions.
The iPad fits snugly inside the Crumpler Herbas iPad bag. There’s no space for the cubical iPad charger though…
It’s really just the perfect width and height. If I’m not using it to tote around my iPad I can use it as a casual bag since I have a teeny tiny Sony Cybershot TX-1 as my cam. My cellphone, wallet, and keys would all fit in as well. I can even throw in my compact and lipstick.
The straps are adjustable so you can customize how you’d like to wear the bag. I prefer it messenger style as pictured above. I love how the red color can easily complement my tees and jeans.
Aside from the Herbas, other products in the Crumpler Chinese New Year 2011 limited edition line include:
- The Squid – P1,450
- The Freckle – P1,200
- The Hillman Hunter – P3,850
- The Goldschlager’s Carpet – P2,250
- The Headaitch – P2,950 — I was actually torn between this bag and the Herbas. I ended up choosing the Herbas in the end.
There’s also this cute rabbit charm you can buy in order to accessorize your Crumpler bag. It costs P395… I so want one for my Herbas! It’s a rabbit in order to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit for Chinese New Year 2011.
