I had coffee and desserts with Mrs. Martinez and a couple of friends at Classic Confections last May 2, 2011 — the exact date of Mrs. M’s birthday. We had lunch at Cyma beforehand.
Classic Confections was the unanimous choice because I for one have never actually tried eating there. I’ve been receiving their cakes and pastries on special occasions like Christmas but it was my first time to set foot inside the establishment. We ordered Tiramisu (P195, pictured above). They don’t skimp on the marscapone cheese so it’s divine. It’s served chilled and is delicately flavored with coffee, the kind of light dessert that feels right during these hot summer months.
Of course, being the coffeeholic that I am I just had to order a cup of hot Cappuccino (P110, pictured above). I actually enjoy a good old-fashioned cup of hot coffee more than those sweet and cold concoctions. Classic Confections’ Cappuccino is served with artistic designs on the foam that tops it and a Sugar Cookie on the side. I love this cute smiley face. The coffee is lovely too. I had it straight up with no sweeteners. 😀
I love this Sugar Cookie even more. I never thought a plain old sugar cookie could be so good. They sell this by packs of 16 for P285. I’m tempted to horde some for when I have coffee here at home.
We also had Cheesecake (P225, pictured above). We requested a candle to go with it for Mrs. M’s candle-blowing ceremony, hehe. Sinfully rich and creamy with a delicious graham crust, this is definitely one of the better cheesecakes out there.
Hmm… I have a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes from Classic Confections which I have not yet redeemed, now I’m definitely excited because if they can make Sugar Cookies this addictive, I’m sure they can do even more with cupcakes! 😀
