Buon Giorno Caffe and Bistro Ortigas

I had dinner with hubby and the kids one Sunday night at Buon Giorno Caffe and Bistro at Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas. It was not my first time there since I was previously invited to a food event by Buon Giorno.

Buon Giorno

The interiors are quaint. Wooden floors, wooden tables and chairs, and hanging overhead lamps give it a somewhat rustic ambiance. There were very few people that evening and so we were able to have a nice quiet dinner.

Buon Giorno Caffe and BistroCustomers are given complimentary baskets of freshly baked bread with condiments like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan cheese on the table.

Buon Giorno Caffe and BistroHubby and I ordered Spaghettini Aglio E Olio (P272, pictured above) to share. It’s a simple pasta dish that uses olive oil as its sauce base and is seasoned with anchovies, lots of garlic cloves (yum!), and sundried tomatoes.
alt=I also ordered Mozarella, Basil, Pesto, and Pepperonata Panino (P215, pictured above). It’s basically a vegetarian sandwich filled with melted mozarella cheese, chopped basil, pesto, and bell peppers. Olive oil is also spread on the bread’s inner surface so it’s kind of greasy. There’s garden salad and potato chips on the side too. So-so for me, but I was surprised when my son ate half because it’s normally a challenge to feed him vegetables.

Buon Giorno Caffe and BistroCheese and Pimiento Stuffed Burger (P215, pictured above) was hubby’s order. It came with fries and a spoonful of ketchup on the side. The bread and the beef patty are quite thick so I’m under the impression that it’s filling.

Buon Giorno Caffe and BistroOur kids each ordered from the Kiddie Meals and both picked Chicken Tenders and Fries (P180, pictured above). You can choose to have curly fries instead of regular ones and it comes with a glass of iced tea.
The food we had that evening was overall pretty average fare and to date I think their best offerings are salad with their signature Marlinjo dressing (raspberry vinaigrette), pizza, and beef wagyu… all of which I was able to sample at their food event. Not bad but not something I’d go all the way to Tagaytay for, so thank goodness for the Ortigas branch.
