Last year, I got a Gaston Luga Splash Crossbody Bag for travel use. Gaston Luga is a Swedish brand so I’m not surprised it’s giving a neat, simple, and streamlined IKEA vibe. I’d usually lug around my Balenciaga City Bag every international trip — and I had been doing this since way before the pandemic. Lately it’s been looking worse for wear so I decided to get a more lightweight and weather-resistant bag for travel. I got the color red, which I later found out was a limited color, so now it’s out of stock forever. There are many other colors available however.
It’s definitely a lot smaller than the Balenciaga but it can fit everything I need — my travel wallet, passport, powerbank, charging cable, lip balm, and a pen. I also have an eco bag with a velcro strap which I fasten to this bag’s strap.
I love how it’s so easy to close the bag securely via this hook. Even if my hands are holding other things I can fasten it effortlessly.
Love the subtle branding. I’m all about quiet luxury now (though this isn’t really luxury but you get my drift).
Here’s the bag in action. It really is crossbody after all. It’s so lightweight that even if I carry it around the entire day it doesn’t make my shoulder ache. I used it in Seoul and it got rained on a lot. Still good as it’s made of waterproof eco material that’s easy to clean. The leather Balenciaga would be dead had I subjected it to those weather conditions. The shoulder strap is actually detachable so you can carry it around like a clutch. I can’t imagine why I’d want to do that though lol. Last trip I even stuffed my house keys in the zip compartment inside the bag. It’s kinda like fitting a dozen clowns inside a small VW Beetle, the way they do it in a circus.

You can use Lazada coins and vouchers to lower the ₱4,600.00 price tag. They carry a lot of styles but for me the Gaston Luga Splash Crossbody Bag is the best of the bunch. So far it’s been to Thailand 2x and South Korea 1x. It will be going to Singapore soon lol.
