As promised, I’m making a separate post about the yummy food we had during our mother-daughter bonding day courtesy of Ford Philippines. We were treated to lunch at 2nds Restaurant at Bonifacio High Street. It’s actually my 3rd time to eat at 2nd’s but it’s only now that I can blog about it because it was night time the previous two times and my photos all sucked since the place was really dimmed down.
For starters, we had Bacon Chicharon (P315). This is 2nd’s most popular appetizer. Ultra-crunchy bacon chicharon is served with muscovado syrup and spiced vinegar. It also comes with side salad. It’s soooo addictive I had to muster all my self-control not to finish all the strips. XD
Then we had the Smoked Caprese Tower (P415). Sliced juicy tomatoes, smoked laguna white cheese, mesclun greens, pesto, and balsamic glaze make for a light and refreshing salad.
My daughter’s favorite dish was the Good Morning Carbonara (P395). Spaghetti with cream sauce, garlic, onions, and bacon is baked with an egg on top. She finished about 3/4 of this dish which we shared.
For her main course, my daughter opted for the Summer Grilled Pork Chop (P515). Grilled pork chop is marinated in pineapple and soy sauce then grilled to perfection. It’s served atop garlic coriander rice and wild arugula salad. I didn’t have a hard time slicing this for my daughter since it was so tender.
Meanwhile, I picked Healthy’s Chicken (P525). Pan-roasted chicken breast and leg with honey and Pommery mustard is served with green onion polenta and mixed greens on the side. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and it was very tasty.
For dessert, we had Apple Crumble (P245). Stewed apple chunks and cinnamon topped with crumble then served with mantecado espresso sauce. My daughter enjoyed eating the crumble with the sauce, haha!
2nds Restaurant is a nice place to splurge if you want to enjoy excellent food and service. It’s on the pricey side but servings are good for sharing.
