I shop online a lot. I’ve been doing so for over a decade already as my first online purchase happened in 1998 (I bought a graphic novel from Amazon.com). My favorite store is probably Amazon.com. They have everything from books to video games to beauty products, clothes, shoes, and accessories. They have good prices and customer service too. What I usually do whenever I buy stuff at Amazon is have them ship everything to my mom’s house in California. My mom just tosses everything into a balikbayan box and then ships them out to us when it’s full. The box’s shipping costs about US$60 and it takes anywhere from 30-60 days for it to arrive on our doorstep. It’s good if you’re not in a rush. It takes us months to fill up a balikbayan box and since it’s shipped by sea you usually end up waiting more than a month for it to arrive. Not good if you need something urgently.
Anyhow, today I’d like to share my new discovery — USA2Everywhere! USA2Everywhere is a shipping service that you can use to get your US-based purchases within a week (or even less). Christmas is just around the corner and so is Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US — Nov. 29, 2013 this year). Almost every avid online shopper knows that you get the best deals and steals during the Black Friday Sale.
So anywhow, I had been eyeing this Kate Spade Idiom Bangle at Amazon.com for a while now. It cost US$99 when I first saw it (and at the time I decided to order it). The price has been reduced to US$65 now *sniff*. I don’t know. One day I woke up and decided I didn’t want to wear layers and layers of small thin bangles anymore because they are a pain to store (and I have soooo much of them) and I wanted to stick to thicker pieces like this one that I could wear alone.
Okay so true enough, the Kate Spade Idiom Bangle was with me about a week after ordering. The originally US$99 bracelet cost around US$21 to ship to Manila. USA2Everywhere will even deliver it to Metro Manila addresses for free so you don’t have to go pick it up. It fell under USA2Everywhere’s lightest weight range, 0.5kg — so any item within that weight range would have the same shipping cost. There can be multiple items, as long as they fall within .5kg and below in total weight. I’m thinking, this would really be a nice way to bring over your higher cost but lightweight items in. USA2Everywhere’s weight increments go up by .5kg per tier, like after 0.5kg, the next tier would be 1.0kg at around US$25.
Availing of USA2Everywhere’s service is really easy, all you have to do is:
- Register for a free account at USA2Everywhere.
- Shop at any US retailer’s website and have your purchases sent to USA2Everywhere’s US warehouse by using its location as your shipping address (details will be provided for you at the website when you get an account).
- Log into your USA2Eveywhere account and “Create a Shipment” by identifying the description and value of your purchases. You instantly get a US$2.50 shipping discount.
- Upon receiving the carrier tracking number from the vendor, enter the number under the corresponding order in your USA2Everywhere account. You get another US$2.50 discount!
Aside from shipping, USA2Everywhere also offers personal shopping services and a hold service in case you want to consolidate your items into one shipment. Please note that some items, especially electronics, are subject to a minimal tax which USA2Everywhere will make as painless as possible since they do their business by the bulk. Let’s say you order a PSVita from Amazon.com… the estimated tax for it would be anywhere from P500 to P1,000.
What I like about USA2Everywhere:
- Fast, efficient, and reliable service.
- The online customer interface is easy to use.
- The possibilities are endless — you can have items as small as a ring or as big as a 60″ TV shipped directly to you.
Aside from the upcoming Black Friday Sale, USA2Everywhere currently has an ongoing promo with MasterCard wherein MasterCard users would get 20% off the shipping fee! Check out the poster above (you can click on it for a better view).
I’m currently contemplating ordering a PSVita with some games at Amazon.com and having USA2Everywhere bring it over, lol.
