Last Saturday, I was invited to have lunch at Brothers Burger located in Petron along EDSA near Dasmarinas Village. Honestly I haven’t been to Brothers in a while ever since the branch closest to me, Tomas Morato, closed down. The good news is, they are actually relocating to Il Terrazzo.
Anyhow, this branch is really great because it’s shiny and new and fully air-conditioned so you don’t feel the sweltering heat outside.
Without much ado we were served the latest addition to Brothers Burger’s menu, Brothers’ Chicken Wings (P219 for 6 pcs). It comes in two flavors: Barbecue and Butter Parmesan. I am not fond of chicken but they got how I want it down to pat — super crispy outside, well-cooked and juicy inside. Barbecue is glazed with a kicky tasty barbecue sauce but it retained the crunch all the same. Yum!
Butter Parmesan surprised me. I usually end up hating this variant at other places but wow, Brothers’ version rocks — crispy, not overly greasy (despite the butter), and cheesy! It’s really good!
Brothers Burger also introduced a fresh concept that day — Lettuce Wrapped Burger (P175, pictured above). Instead of bread, you wrap the patty and the rest of the filling with lettuce leaves and then dig in. It’s served with Brothers’ signature cilantro cream sauce in the side. It’s surprisingly delicious. I didn’t even miss the bread. It struck my taste buds as so much more refreshing to eat compared to the usual burger in a bun. This will be an option in all Brothers Burgers outlets soon but they’re still working on the pricing.
They started serving Brothers Lamb Burger for everyone when I apologized and told them I don’t eat lamb. I just can’t stand the icky gamey odor. With that I opted for the Black Angus Burger (P280, pictured above) instead. It’s a really hefty burger — I took one look and knew for sure I couldn’t finish it. I split it in half and had the other half wrapped so I could take it home. I love the thick, juicy, and aromatic Angus beef patty. When I got home my son ate the other half and enjoyed it a lot too!
Onion Rings (P75, pictured above) were served on the side. These are awesome I tell you. Super crispy and well, it has a real ring of onion inside, lol! Some onion rings make you feel like you’re eating just batter… but not this one.
