Animetric’s 9th Anniversary Reader Meetup

I’ve been blogging for 9 whole years but this is the first time I’ve done a reader meetup. I guess I was afraid to because I get to thinking… what if no one comes? Wahahaha! Anyway, I launched my 9th Anniversary Giveaway last January. The theme was surprise bags. K-Palette Philippines, Starbucks Philippines, Esfolio Philippines, Netflix Philippines, Curves Magnolia, Oishi Philippines, Cathy Doll Philippines, and Watsons Philippines all gave one surprise bag each. Then Greenwich decided to award 15 winners nationwide so that those outside Metro Manila can join too. 🙂

I had announced prior that for the surprise bags, I would be awarding the winners personally and treating them to lunch somewhere on March 24. That somewhere turned out to be Vanilla Cupcake Bakery BGC (I also didn’t know this was going to be my venue when I started the giveaways). I was so amazed that some came from as far as Bulacan, Batangas, and Cavite.

Vanilla Cupcake Bakery has really filling and affordable all-day meals that are all priced at P198 each. I opted for the Crispy Kare-Kare which is their bestseller. Crispy pork knuckle, veggies, and rice are served with peanut sauce and bagoong (shrimp paste). Love that they don’t use exotic parts like animal tails etc. for their kare-kare.

I ordered some assorted tea cakes for dessert too. I got Carrot Cake, Vanilla, and Red Velvet. Each one costs P100+ and can be sliced into 4 servings. I wanted to make sure everyone was well-fed. 😀

After lunch I awarded the winners of my 9th anniversary giveaway their prizes. This is Geraldine, the K-Palette Surprise Bag winner. She’s familiar with my anime site from way way back, yay! Thank you Geraldine for the gifts. 😀

This is Jenny, the Starbucks Surprise Box winner. She was the first to arrive, so she also won the early bird prize from Cathy Doll Philippines. 😀

This is Louise, the Esfolio Surprise Box winner. I had to transfer the box’s contents into a bag so I could bring it along easily. Thank you Louise for the organic goodies from your farm! 😀

This is Rocel, the Netflix Surprise Bag winner. I’ve actually met her before when she took part in my joint beauty workshop with Marj. 😀

It was a really fun, casual lunch. I think we stayed at the venue for 4 hours lol, we just had to leave at 2pm because the place was going to be closed off for a party. We all got to talking about beauty, health, blogging, and a whole lot more. I’m definitely doing this again on my 10th anniversary. Also thinking of having a similar giveaway and meetup when my Instagram account reaches 10k followers (I’m about 1.7k away from that goal lol).
