This is actually a recap of the lovely dinner I had with the Sony Philippines folks and some fellow bloggers last June 9, 2010 at Je Suis Gourmand. We were invited to check out the Sony VAIO 2010 models which I posted about some time ago. This time, I’d like to talk about the food. 😀
For the appetizer, we had Caesar’s Salad with Parmesan Shavings and Parma Ham. They don’t have this on the menu as it’s part of a pre-ordered set dinner. I liked that the salad was light on the dressing. It was complemented perfectly by the saltiness of the Parma Ham.
For the main course, we were given three options. I chose the Seared US Beef Flank with Roasted Shallots Sauce, Fries, and Salad. I had it well done. It came out juicy and tender, I especially loved the caramelized onions which topped it. The side salad had almost no dressing (maybe they forgot?) so I pretty much didn’t care for it. The closest thing the menu has to this dish is probably the Grilled Marinated US Flank Steak which is priced at P590.
For dessert we were all served Fresh Mango Milles-feuilles with Rum Cream and Sauce. A Milles-feuilles is a French creation wherein layers of puff pastry are filled with cream or custard in between. This one had a lot of fresh sweet mango slices to accompany the cream. It was very quaint, and it goes perfectly with cup of hot brewed coffee which is included with the set.
