Extra extra! Read all about it! Donna Karan New York launches yet another iconic fragrance — DKNY MYNY!
This scent features British singer, songwriter, and actress Rita Ora as its brand ambassador. Oh yes, I was very fortunate to have been invited to this newsworthy event! The DKNY MYNY team transformed the corridor right outside Rustans Makati to a virtual NYC street. I’m LSS-ing to Alicia Keys and Jay Z’s song “Empire State of Mind” as I compose this post.
The entire set-up was complete with street signs, benches, and booths where you could stop by and enjoy some NY-inspired treats. There were also fun games to participate in, specifically a trivia game booth and a picture puzzle booth.
I’m always up for a challenge and so I tried answering trivia questions. This is one of the questions I got. I answered “The New York Times”, and of course and I got it right!
Some more questions later, I scored these cute prizes — a DKNY MYNY bag tag (perfect for customizing my generic black suitcase) and a DKNY baller band!
Hahaha, I wanted to hop on this motorcycle which was part of the DKNY MYNY showcase!
More importantly, I was there to get first dibs on DKNY MYNY. I’ve always loved DKNY fragrances because they’re fresh, never too heavy, plus they don’t smell matronly. At my um… advanced age, the last thing I need are things that will make me seem older than I already am, so this is perfect!
I had a whiff of DKNY MYNY (actually more than a whiff as I pretty much sprayed the fragrance all over myself) and here’s a rundown on what makes DKNY MYNY tick:
- Top Notes: Raspberry, Galbanum, Pink Pepper
- Middle Notes: Egyptian Jasmine, Freesia, Root of Orris
- Bottom Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, and Musk
The resulting scent is a mix of fruity and floral notes. It’s light yet warm, kind of like that transition from summer to autumn. It’s described as celebrating the energy of New York and as we all know New York is known as the city that never sleeps. The scent of DKNY MYNY can definitely take you from coffee to cocktails, so it’s a fragrance you can rock round-the-clock. I really like the stylish heart-shaped bottle which reminds me of towering NYC skyscrapers when I look at it from the side.
New York City in a bottle? New York City in the palm of my hand? Oh yes, this fragrance is definitely all about NYC.
