Le Petit Souffle Megamall
February 18, 2017

Le Petit Souffle in SM Megamall

This is a long overdue post. We had a preview dinner at Le Petit Souffle in SM Megamall last December, a day or two prior to its opening. This is their second branch, the first one opened in Century City Mall back in 2015. It’s located near Pull & Bear in the SM Mega Fashion Hall.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallThe overall ambiance is the same — lots of greens hanging overhead, marble tabletops, vintage water bottles… it’s really quite cozy.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallI tried their new drink, Yakult Guava Crafted Iced Tea. They serve it in a beaker along with a glass and strainer. You pour from the beaker into the glass filled with ice through the strainer. It’s nice and refreshing. That’s saying a lot considering I’m not fond of guava.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallMarinated Octopus Salad was served to start us off. Like my drink, it was light and refreshing. A citrusy vinaigrette dressing is drizzled over mixed greens, tender octopus bits, and cubed ripe mangoes.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallThen we had Baguette with Baked Tomato Dip. The dip is the bomb. Gooey melted cheese with tomatoes and herbs make each toasted baguette taste like a pizza. I wanted to eat the dip by the spoonful lol.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallPotage de Haricots is a creamy and hearty bean soup topped with cheese and herbs. It’s really really good!

Le Petit Souffle MegamallBoth my hubby and I learned how to appreciate squid ink because of Chef Miko Aspiras’ polvoron last year. Now we go full on with Le Petit Souffle’s Squid Ink Rice (P395). By now we’ve tried a lot of squid ink rice and I can confidently say that this is one of the best.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallBacon, Egg, and Cream Pasta (P355) is most certainly a unique take on carbonara. The egg on top is fluffed up like a souffle. When you actually run your spoon or fork through it, you’ll discover that the yolk is still runny. Yummy, although I don’t think I can have a lot as it gets cloying because of the cream.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallThis is the Chicken Ratatouille Souffle (P400). Dig through the airy souffle outer crust and discover chicken ratatouille rice in the middle of it all. Tender chicken pieces are cooked in tomato-based sauce and vegetables then baked inside this light and fluffy souffle. Definitely a must-try.

Le Petit Souffle MegamallFor dessert, I just picked out a few random pastries from The Workshop, a bespoke bakery inside Le Petit Souffle. I got a Calamansi Pili Tart, some kind of Chocolate Cake, and this Caramel thingy. I loved them all! I had a bite off each. I took them home because I was so stuffed at this point.

Le Petit Souffle is a great place to chill with the family or catch up with friends. It’s easy to unwind given the place’s cozy and relaxing vibe. Food is good! With The Workshop in place, there’s no shortage of desserts and pastries to take home too.

I love Le Petit Souffle! I’ve only been to their Century City Mall branch once though so I haven’t tried a lot of stuff in their menu yet. But of the ones I’ve tried, I really like the bacon, egg and cream pasta plus this matcha dessert they have.

I was intrigued with the Marinated Octopus Salad. I’ve never tasted one before and I’d love to try it.

Hmm.. I am thinking that the Marinated Octopus Salad is tastier compared to the ordinary fresh veggie salad.

These dishes aren’t common for sure. I love the presentation and combination of food is curious, hihi. I have to admit I’ve not tasted Octopus ever, so I don’t think I’ll order that salad (I know…my loss) and that Yakult with guava Iced tea is very unusual– but I just might try that. I’m only familiar with the tomato dip that goes with the baguette.

I wonder why the police has not come to pick up you up yet. It’s illegal to take pictures this good! Hehehe. My goodness, you make me want to leave Cebu and head straight to Megamall for a table full of these!
