Ipanema with Starck? Philippe Starck is a French designer renowned for his simple, modern, yet inventive industrial, product, interior, and architectural designs. I’m familiar with Starck because my hubby idolizes him. For Spring Summer 2016, Starck collaborates with footwear brand Ipanema. Now I like Starck’s designs — and so I was excited about what he could bring to a footwear brand that I actually use.
And so Ipanema’s newest collection is dubbed Ipanema with Starck. This pair was the first design to catch my attention, it’s called Ipanema with Starck Thing U (P1,625). Starck pairs a simple toe knob with a piped plastic strap.
This is Ipanema with Starck Thing N (P1,895). It’s probably the most shoe-like design in the collection since the back part is closed off.
This is Ipanema with Starck Thing M (P1,625). It’s the most minimalistic in terms of design as it resembles an ordinary flipflop except that it’s more sleek and lightweight.
This is Ipanema with Starck Thing G (P1,625). It sports Starck’s signature style. An intricate arrangement of piped straps wrap the feet. They say its reminiscent of his other design projects.
The collection features strappy summer-ready designs which capitalize on Starck’s philosophy that less is more elegant. These sleek minimalist sandals are available in 4 designs in 12 color combinations for a total of 48 different pairs. They’re actually perfect for keeping your feet cool yet fashionable in this sweltering hot summer weather.
Chic and sophisticated yet playful, these sandals go well with shorts, dresses, jeans, and even beach wear.
