Ascott Makati

Our Ascott Makati Staycation!

We spent Father’s Day weekend in Ascott Makati last month. It was our first time to stay there and we were given a 2-Bedroom Deluxe Suite.

Ascott MakatiStaying at Ascott Makati is like staying in a luxury condominium unit. It’s much more spacious compared to a hotel room.

Ascott MakatiThere’s a dining area which can accommodate 4 people.

Ascott MakatiThese goodies were waiting for us when we arrived — fresh sweet ripe mangoes, a Theo & Philo chocolate bar, an assortment of dried mangoes…

Ascott MakatiThese were my favorite — Mango Chocolate! They’re dark chocolate coated dried mangoes and they’re soooo good. The perfect mix of sweet, tart, and just a tad bitter. Love the box too, it’s perfect for gifting!

Ascott MakatiWe got our own fully equipped kitchen. You can actually cook here.

Ascott MakatiThere’s a stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator…

Ascott MakatiThere’s a living room area.

Ascott MakatiIt’s furnished with a home theater system.

Ascott MakatiThis is the room where the kids stayed. They put in an extra bed just in case we brought yaya along but we didn’t.

Ascott MakatiThey have their own TV and study.

Ascott MakatiAlso their own bathroom that’s equipped with a toilet and shower area.

Ascott MakatiThis was our bedroom, the master bedroom.

Ascott MakatiWe also had our own study and TV. This room is super spacious.

Ascott MakatiWe had our own bathroom too.

Ascott MakatiAll the bathrooms come with complete amenities — toothbrushes, shower caps, vanity kits…

Ascott MakatiWhat do you now, the toiletries provided are from L’Occitane! Impressive! We got soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Ascott MakatiThe master bathroom has a bath tub. I actually brought a Lush Bath Bomb and used it here.

Ascott_MakatiThere’s a closet with a washing machine, dryer, and weighing scale.

Ascott MakatiPlus an ironing board and a flat iron.

Ascott MakatiThere’s also an electronic safe and a storage room where you can hang clothes and keep your luggage.

Ascott MakatiThis is the view from our room. That evening we had dinner at Cafe on the 6th, Ascott Makati’s restaurant but I’ll tell you about that in another post. We also did some shopping after dinner since Ascott Makati is conveniently right at Glorietta 4 — as in you go out the door, take a few steps and you’re already inside the mall. Cross the street and you’re on your way to SM Makati. I love the location!

"AscottWhen we went back to the room that night there was a nightcap waiting for the kids. Each of them got a tall glass of cold milk and a plate of chewy chocolate chip cookies. We all had a good night’s sleep in the cozy and comfy bedrooms. Ascott Makati provides free wifi internet access so you can work and play online as you please.

Ascott MakatiThe next morning, we went swimming after breakfast (I’ll tell you all about the wonderful breakfast in another post).

Ascott MakatiThe pool is really nice and not too crowded. It’s also partially shaded by the building’s shadow so it’s not too hot. There’s a jacuzzi too, but it was full of people so we weren’t able to try it out.

Update: Here’s a virtual tour of the newly renovated rooms of Ascott Makati. It looks a lot better now (2016) compared to when we stayed. The use of this 360° virtual tour of Ascott Makati is authorized by Traveloka.

A 2-Bedroom Deluxe unit costs around anywhere from P9+k to P11+k per night depending on what kind of rate you avail of. I thought it was great staying at Ascott Makati since I could just walk over to the malls and shop — Glorietta, Landmark, and SM Makati are all readily accessible. Service is great too! The unit is cozy and complete with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

So what’s the difference between staying at Ascott Makati and checking in a hotel? For starters, Ascott Makati offers long stay rates for those who need lodging for weeks or months. It’s also more spacious as compared to a hotel room and it’s just like having your own condo — you can cook, dine, do laundry, and entertain in your unit. It’s also great for family staycations since it’s near nice upscale commercial areas plus there are complete facilities like a swimming pool, gym, spa, game room (billiards and video games), tennis court, as well as kiddie programs and activities.

Will share about Ascott Makati’s restaurant Cafe on the 6th in my next post.
