Tickles SM North Edsa
April 29, 2017April 29, 2017

Tickles SM North Edsa is now open!

Tickles. The shop’s name never fails to evoke feelings of nostalgia. It’s been around since 1979, so it was pretty much the go-to store for all things cute and quirky for 80’s kids like me. Apparently 90’s kids too… because my (slightly) younger friends feel the same way! Good news… Tickles SM North EDSA is now open to serve an eclectic mix of all your favorite things.

Tickles SM North EdsaTickles SM North Edsa has the same cheery circus toy store vibe as the SM Megamall store. It’s located on the upper ground floor of the main building across Jollibee.

Tickles SM North EdsaMy kids saw my photos of Tickles Megamall last year and insisted on tagging along. I told them they each had P1k to shop with. I was curious as to what kids their ages would buy at Tickles.

Tickles SM North EdsaThey went around on their own while I browsed. These cute chick(?) keychains (P195 each) reminded me of our roborovski hamster at home.

Tickles SM North EdsaMeanwhile these psychedelic stuffed toys look like something out of Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time. They cost a little over P1k each.

Tickles SM North EdsaThese mini card games (P80 each) are perfect for travel! They’ll easily fit on an airplane’s foldable table if you need to lay them out.

Tickles SM North EdsaI love Tickles’ headbands. They’re very comfy and flexible. They don’t make my head hurt even if I wear them for a long time.

Tickles SM North EdsaThe cat ears, crown, and bunny ears cost a mere P30 each. These pom pom ones cost P120.

Tickles SM North EdsaCheck out the cute pencil sets, luggage tags, and pill box with a compass in the middle.

Tickles SM North EdsaThese resealable case filled with erasers cost only P50 each.

Tickles SM North EdsaWhoa, these pencils are loooong. They’re P55 per set.

Tickles SM North EdsaMy kids went round and round the store, awed by the overload of unique items.

Tickles SM North EdsaNow these somehow remind me of Alice in Wonderland… or The Matrix. They’re priced at P90 per bottle.

Tickles SM North EdsaThis fruit fan (P180) doesn’t need batteries to work. Just flick on the lever.

Tickles SM North EdsaOne of our best finds was this set of plastic bookmarks with outstretched hands. One box containing 4 pieces costs a mere P60.

Tickles SM North EdsaI was surprised when my kids picked out bouncing rubber balls (P30 each) by the cashier area. They said they each wanted one. When I asked what for, they said to relieve stress. Oooookay.

Tickles SM North EdsaMy son picked the eyeball while my daughter got the crystal-looking ball.

Tickles SM North EdsaAnyhow, my son bought a motorcycle made of assorted metal parts (P820), a patch which according to him represented the Mexican Day of Death (P80), and 2 bouncing rubber balls (P30 each) because his sister had already gone over her P1k budget lol.

Tickles SM North EdsaMy daughter got a cat-themed sticky notes set (P140), a set of bookmarks (P60), a giant playing card set (P295), a cat zipper pouch (P150), a watermelon fan (P180), ponytail holders (P80 each), a cat ears headband (P30), and 2 mini Tic Tacs (P15 each).

The kids really enjoyed their first visit to Tickles. While I would’ve picked entirely different items, I didn’t interfere with their shopping. They’re both in their teen years and I know they’re changing somewhat. I figured this was a good way of getting a glimpse of their developing personalities.

Do visit the newly opened Tickles SM North Edsa for your cute and quirky fix!
