Did you know that applying sunscreen everyday is one of the most effective things you can do for your skin when it comes to keeping it nice and young-looking? Any dermatologist would tell you that sunscreen helps prevent dark spots, wrinkles, and skin darkening. It keeps your skin from aging prematurely and it’s one of your defenses against skin cancer. As for me, I never leave the house without sunscreen on exposed areas of my skin (face, neck, arms, etc.). The latest facial sunscreen I’ve tried is Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++.
That said, it makes sense to invest in a good sunscreen don’t you think? Especially for the face. The latest one I’ve tried is Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++. I drive every single day since I’m my kids’ official school bus driver. With Manila traffic what it is, I spend a lot of the time in the car where the sun’s rays can go through the windows. That said, I prefer a higher SPF for my facial sunscreen.
Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ is a light yet creamy sunscreen that’s fragrance-free. Sometimes I scratch certain sunscreens off my list because I don’t like how they smell. With Kiehl’s, that won’t be a problem.
It goes on smoothly and it’s lightweight. It’s absorbed into the skin fairly quickly, so despite being colored white it doesn’t leave a white, chalky cast on your face.
Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ leaves your skin feeling clean and moisturized, not sticky or greasy. I washed my face and did my whole Laneige cleanse-tone-moisturize drill before applying it and despite the product layering my face didn’t react negatively. That’s one thing I love about Kiehl’s products, they are truly transversal. You can just add them to your existing regimen and they will do the job without a hitch. No violent reactions. I’ve experienced mixing brands together and getting rashes before so yeah, with Kiehl’s you’re safe.
What I like about Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++:
- It’s fragrance-free! I dislike overpowering scents on skin care products so this is great.
- It’s lightweight plus it spreads and absorbs quickly — perfect for our hot and humid climate!
- It’s like you didn’t put anything on after application so you can apply make-up afterwards scot-free… just wait for it to dry completely.
- It can seamlessly blend in with your existing skin care regimen.
- The slim, mess-free tube makes it a good travel companion in case you need to reapply.
Downside? The price! Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ costs P1,995 for 30ml and P2,995 for 60ml (like the one in the photo above). It’s available at Kiehl’s boutiques in Greenbelt 5, Trinoma, and Power Plant Mall.
This is definitely one of the best sunscreens I’ve tried and I think I will be using it for a while. 😀
