I got three boxes of decadent desserts courtesy of Frannywanny some days ago. 😀
The first box contained Wicked Bites (P265 for a box of 18, pictured above) which are small spicy chocolate cupcakes. Yup, you read it right, they are spicy because they’re made with a mix of rich chocolate and chili.
Wicked Bites are so moist and fudgy that it’s like they’re flourless. You don’t feel the chili at first bite, it’s when you’re down to the last morsel that the spice kicks in. My 9-year old son loved these little treats. He would have one after each meal and be perfectly happy. 🙂
The citrusy scent of lemons wafted out as soon as I unhinged the second box’s flaps. Dragonfly Desserts’ bestseller, Lemon Ginger Pound Cake (P320 for a 7×3 inch loaf, pictured above), was inside.
The Lemon Ginger Pound Cake is very rich and buttery. It had a good amount of ginger zest scattered throughout. I liked it, unfortunately my kids did not as they have never been fond of ginger. I found this combination of sweet, tart, and spicy to be quite lovely. It’s the type of cake best enjoyed with a cup of piping hot tea. It’s great even after refrigeration too. 😀
The third box had Dragonfly Desserts’ latest offering, the Almond Cappuccino Bars (P195 per Half Box of around 10 pcs, pictured above). The divine aroma of coffee greeted me as soon as I opened the box.
The Almond Cappuccino Bars are generously topped with chocolate chips and almond slivers. They’re very chewy and not overly sweet, plus each bar possessed the taste of perfectly prepared cappuccino — one of my favorite beverages! I liked this dessert best among the three. It hardens a bit when refrigerated, but it’s nothing a little toasting or sitting at room temperature can’t fix. 🙂
If you want to give away something new and unique this Christmas, do consider these goodies from Dragonfly Desserts. The Almond Cappuccino Bars are definitely making it into my Christmas list as I have a lot of friends and relatives who are coffee aficionados. 😀
