It was a lot like Christmas when I got a preview of Dragonfly Desserts‘ new offerings last April 2, 2012. My favorites have always been their Lemon Ginger Pound Cake and Almond Cappuccino Bars.
I felt like a kid who got a lot of Christmas presents, hehe! I couldn’t decide which to try first. Luckily there’s four of us in the family so I could just get a bite from what they pick.
The colorful ones are Tarte Paris (P185 for a 4″ tart). Each one is topped with a big juicy strawberry, blueberries, mandarin orange slices, and peaches. They’re filled with custard that’s not too sweet then surrounded by a chocolate-coated buttery crust. Yummy… and they remind me of my daughter’s Whipple toy set. XD
The Tarte Paris are flanked by Apple Cheese Tart (P145 for a 4″ tart). The crumbly crust is laced with what tasted like parmesan cheese. Each piece is practically bursting at the seams with apple chunks spiced with cinnamon. It’s great as a snack when paired with a glass of cold milk. Delicious!
This is Intramuros (P135 for a 3″ cake). An Oreo-cookie crust is topped with dark chocolate mousse, milk chocolate mousse, and white chocolate mousse. Despite being all chocolate, it’s amazingly light in consistency, rich, and not overly sweet. Simply sublime!
They are paper-thin crisp cookies that taste of rich dark chocolate with a sprinkling of pistachio nut bits on top. They actually remind me of lengua de gato only I think they’re better.
See how thing one cookie is? Wow! I marvel at how this is baked. This is my daughter’s favorite amongst all the new desserts.
