The School Room in Ortigas

I was invited to check out The School Room, a preschool located in the heart of Ortigas. They offer Toddler, Nursery, Pre-Kinder, and Kinder classes. But more than that, they have both academic and non-academic summer programs for kids ages 2 to 7 years old.

The School RoomThe School Room was hosting free trial classes last week when I went to check them out.

The School RoomI was given a tour of the school. There are several fully furnished, colorful, and child-friendly classrooms.

The School RoomActivities would depend on what program you choose to enroll in.

The School RoomEach classroom has its own reading nook.

The School RoomThe tables and chairs are so small, they’re sooo cute! I miss the days when my kids were this age.

The School RoomThe School Room will be offering a Daycare Program in addition to the regular yearly curriculum and summer programs. Kids will be completely taken cared of — they’ll be taught, fed, plus they’ll even have nap time!

The School RoomThe School Room is also equipped with safe and educational toys that small kids will have fun tinkering with.

The School RoomI was able to sit in a trial class. The teachers and even the headmistress herself are all very hands-on when it comes to making sure the kids are comfortable and at ease. I was surprised no one cried when the parents were asked to wait outside the classroom. I remember my own son’s preschool days. I think it took about a month before he let me leave him inside the classroom on his own.

The School Room has Academic Summer Programs for kids ages 2 to 7 years old:

  1. The Summer SchoolRoom (2 to 3.5 yrs old) – Introduces your child to preschool with a mix of art, science, math, singing, dancing, and a whole lot of fun!
  2. Literacy Fun (3 to 5 yrs old) – This is all about the wonderful world of books and storytelling.
  3. Science & Numeracy Club (3 to 5 yrs old) – The child explores, creates, and discovers with science experiments and math concepts.
  4. Artist’s Corner (3 to 5 yrs old) – This is all about creating art using various materials and mediums.

For the Non-Academic Summer Programs they have:

  1. Taekwondo for Kids (4 to 6 yrs old) – Kids learn about discipline and self-defense in this action-packed program.
  2. Hip Hop for Kids (4 to 7 yrs old) – Kids learn to dance!
  3. Mandarin (3 to 7 yrs old) – Kids learn a new language in a fun and developmentally appropriate way!

There will be two (2) winners — one will win GCs for The Summer SchoolRoom and Literacy Fun, one will win GCs for Science & Numeracy Club and Artist’s Corner. I wanted to try The School Room’s program and see if our Elijah would love it. We’re still torn between homeschooling and enrolling him to a traditional school/playschool.

My son is turning 2 this year, but he already shows interest in reading and art. In fact, during his first haircut, we calmed him down with books because the toys won’t work for him! I hope we get to win so my son can experience The School Room 🙂

My son will be starting junior nursery/pre-kinder in June, and I’ve been looking for summer classes for him for awhile now. He shows an inclination for science, so I have been searching for summer classes that incorporate science and/or math, but none of the places near our home have summer classes like that. The Summer SchoolRoom sounds absolutely perfect for him. I think he’d enjoy the Science & Numeracy Club as well but he’s a few months short of the cut-off age.

I want to win The School Room GCs because my daughter, who is 4.8 years old, is missing school a lot since their summer break started! The Science & Numeracy Club and Artist’s Corner will be perfect for her since she loves numbers and drawing/coloring a lot! And since I worked in the Ortigas area, it will be great to have her near me even for just 2 weeks! 🙂

The school room is very suitable for kids to interact because it uses fun and interactive ways fir the kids to learn. Not only will they learn but they would also have fun too.

I want to win the GCs to let my daughter (2.4 yrs old) try the school and see if she will enjoy it. At the same time, maybe she will overcome her shyness with other people when she is in an environment full of kids.

Thank you for this Rowena! We’re actually looking for a pre-school for my 3 year old daughter. We want to enroll her sana para she can have experience and get to socialize with other kids her age. Mahirap kasi sya turuan sa bahay kaya sana if manalo kami ng GCs we can get those trial classes and see if she can adjust and mingle with other kids. Hopefully mas maging interested sya to learn how to read and write. More power to you and God Bless!

Thanks for this review, Rowena! I’ve been looking for a place that can offer fun summer activities for my 4yr old after she finishes her swimming lessons this month. The School Room sounds like a great place to learn and have fun at the same time. 🙂 Would love to win one of those classes for her to enjoy.

I want to win this for my brother who has turned three last March. He has not been able to attend anything like this before, and I thought this would be good for his development and enjoyment. He is a bright kid and this will be really educational and fun for him. He enjoys playing and somehow inclined in arts (he knows some colors and is familiar with the alphabets). He stays home most of the time and his playmates are mostly grade schoolers, this will be a good opportunity for him to mingle with kids in his age bracket and just have a good time.

    Hi Ms. Wendy,

When just saw your post on Twitter I just click my mouse on the Link excitedly. Oh my G It is sooo perfect for my son. My child is 2 years old and one month. I am hoping to win this promo because my son needed to have this kind of class. We went to his pedia last week and she advised me to take him to a play class, or like this school room to enhance his speaking and motor ability. As a a minimum wage earner I can’t afford or it just I need to save before i can enroll him for this kind of class. I just read the course description of Literacy fun and I think it will be the best for my child.
Thank you for your generous heart, you can give it to your relatives or friends instead but you chose to give it to your readers. May God bless you and your family. Happy to see all mommies here joining your promo. Good luck to us mommies!
