When my hubby and I got married back in 1999, we weren’t very particular about things. We got a generic California King spring mattress and a few pillows (as in we picked some pillows off a supermarket shelf — that was how “anything goes” we were) and we were all set. Years later, we regretted our hasty cost-driven choices (at the time it was wow, this is cheap so go!) because our pillows felt like they had freaky little pebbles inside them and our mattress had become lopsided that my hubby would find himself sliding off his side of the bed and onto the floor.
So yes, now when you tell me that we need to invest in a good quality mattress and pillows, you’re preaching to the choir. European brand Dunlopillo, backed by over 85 years of research and innovation, recently invited mommy bloggers over to Ascott BGC for an intimate chit-chat about sleep. When I was a little girl I hated sleeping, I felt it was a waste of time but these days whenever it’s a holiday all I do is sleep. I don’t exaggerate when I say that these days, I grab every chance I get to take a nap.
Let’s start with the mattress. Dunlopillo introduced its new Normablock spring system which is probably the most technologically advanced one in the market. It’s both durable and flexible, contouring to the body’s shape and providing spinal support.
After my crappy experience with a spring mattress I must admit I’m iffy about them but Dunlopillo’s Normablock spring system has a thick layer of Talalay Latex over it. Talalay Latex is lighter, more porous, and more pliable compared to standard latex. It doesn’t lose its shape over time. It’s more healthy and hygienic since it’s a hypoallergenic material with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It’s more breathable too.
Dunlopillo has 3 mattresses which make use of the Normablock spring system: Catleya, Lucia, and Decora. They differ in height, thickness, and level of support (soft, medium, hard).
Dunlopillo’s latest Normablock Collection can be viewed / purchased at Dunlopillo Showroom at 16 Acropolis Commerical Area, E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave., Libis, Quezon City. Or you can go to the MC Home Depot Fort Branch.
