Last December, well, literally on the last day of December, we drove over to Clark to do some duty-free shopping. The impromptu trip sprung from hubby’s quest to find some HE (High Efficiency) detergent for our new washing machine.
This is one of the things I bought, a jar of Peanut Butter & Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl spread. I’m sick of cookie butter already lol, having hoarded bottles and bottles last year when I went to the US. I was ready to try something else. I don’t like plain peanut butter so I chose to buy the fanciest flavor I could find — Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.
I was attracted to the fact that it’s made of all natural ingredients and contained no high fructose corn syrup. Check it out, there is nothing weird or unreadable in the ingredients list!
It’s very creamy and spreadable but you can still feel the unmistakeable texture of crushed peanuts. When I had consumed the top part of the bottle I was surprised to discover there are actually a lot of raisins inside! I love the combination of creamy gritty peanut butter, cinnamon, and raisins! I like spreading it on freshly baked Pan De Manila pan de sal. It smells soooo good and it’s not overly sweet. I prefer this to cookie butter.
I bought this jar for US$5.28 at one of the duty free shops in Clark. At the time, the exchange rate was P45 so it came out to around P237.60 for one bottle. There are a lot of variants too, I saw the following:
- Peanut Butter & Co. Smooth Operator
- Peanut Butter & Co. Crunch Time
- Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams
- Peanut Butter & Co. White Chocolate Wonderful
- Peanut Butter & Co. The Bee’s Knees
- Peanut Butter & Co. Mighty Maple
- Peanut Butter & Co. The Heat Is On (Spicy!)
If you can’t go to Clark, you can find these babies at SM Supermarket (I saw them at SM Aura Premier but Cinnamon Raisin Swirl was not among the selection) where they cost P349 each.
