Found this large wooden box on my doorstep yesterday. It was full of Oishi Great Lakes Juice packs! Now what’s so special about these?
Oishi Great Lakes is a line of natural juices made from fruits and vegetables. They contain no artificial coloring, flavors, and sweeteners. We’ve actually tried their first two flavors in the past, Vegetable Mix and Tropical Fruit Mix. But now they have a couple of new variants — Great Lakes Pure Pressed Apple and Great Lakes Just Right Red Grape. Can I just say that I love the packaging?
Great Lakes Pure Pressed Apple is made from 100% apple juice. Honestly speaking, when I see a local brand come out with apple juice, I already expect it to taste like artificially flavored water and sugar with a strong fake apple scent (please refer to Zesto Apple Juice as an example). Let’s not even talk about local packed grape juice. So far most of what I’ve tried taste like medicine.
That said, I decided to try Oishi Great Lakes Pure Pressed Apple Juice first to compare. The verdict? Wow. This is probably the best and most natural-tasting local packed apple juice I’ve tried so far. It’s surprisingly good! In fact, I already to plan to cook something for dinner using this. If it’s successful I’ll share the recipe lol! My kids went with Oishi Great Lakes Just Right Grape last night and they loved it too. I’ll try that one later and update this portion accordingly.
Oishi Great Lakes juices are available at all leading supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide at P20 for the 250ml packs and P70 for the 1L resealable packs. Prices may vary slightly depending on the outlet.
