Every holiday season, coffee places like Figaro come out with their own unique food and beverage creations. This year, I got to try Figaro’s entire selection!
Before the sweet stuff, there were savory sandwiches — Chicken Waldorf Croissant Sandwich and Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich. Both are priced at an affordable P145.
Soft buttery croissants are sliced in half and then filled with tender ham slices, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Crispy seasoned potato chips are served on the side. Yum!
Surprisingly, I enjoyed the Chicken Waldorf version more despite not being a fan of chicken. Cubed chicken, apples, walnuts, and celery are all mixed together in mayonnaise in between croissant slices cucumber, tomato, cheese, and lettuce. It’s a nice combination of savory and sweet.
There are four Figaro Yuletide Drinks — Speculoos Frost, Speculoos Latte (pictured above), Praline Frost, and Praline Latte. Basically they’re hot and cold versions of two drinks.
I love how all the drinks come with a Christmas-themed sugar cookie. Personally I prefer the hot versions because I find them less sweet. My favorite is the Praline Latte which tasted like a cross between coffee and hot chocolate. You can tell which is which by the topping — dark brown cocoa powder for the praline drinks and light brown crushed graham for the speculoos drinks. Both the Praline Latte and Speculoos Latte are priced at P119 per cup.
If you like your coffee cold, you can opt for the Praline Frost (P145 for 16oz / P165 20oz) or…
…the Speculoos Frost (P145 16oz / P165 20oz). There are several new cakes to accompany these drinks too. First there’s the Red Velvet Cake (P119 per slice, pictured above).
My favorite however is the Seasoned Prune Cake (P70 per piece, pictured above). I thought it was fruitcake. It’s very moist and it’s perfect with coffee.
My kids enjoyed the Hummingbird Cake (P115 per slice, pictured above) which consists mostly of bananas and walnuts.
This is the Cranberry White Dream Bar (P70 per piece, pictured above). I thought it was biscotti at first but it’s more like a blondie with cranberries and white chocolate. Great with hot coffee too!
If you can’t get enough of the Christmas cookies which come with the drinks, you can buy supersized versions in the form of these Christmas Sugar Cookies which retail for P85 per piece.
These cookies have a slight cinnamon flavor which again goes nicely with coffee.
