I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I love Reese’s Pieces. Darn, I love everything with Reese’s Peanut Butter! That said, I’ve been wanting to buy a jar of Reese’s Peanut Butter for quite some time now. I’ve been seeing them on online shops selling for P400 to P450 per jar but held off buying because I have yet to finish my Peanut Butter & Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.
Anyhow, I decided to do my grocery shopping at Hi-Top Supermarket along Quezon Avenue earlier this afternoon. Guess what I on one of the shelves? Yup, a jar of Creamy Reese’s Peanut Butter and it was priced at P272.25, a lot cheaper than what I’ve seen online! I put it in my cart immediately.
It does live up to its name — it’s SUPER creamy. How does it taste? Why, exactly like the center of a Reese Peanut Butter Cup! I have to admit there seemed to be something missing because there was no chocolate… still, I liked that it wasn’t sweet. In fact, it tasted like crushed salted peanuts lol — I think it’s intentional so that it would go well with chocolate which is naturally sweet. I like spreading it onto bread with cream cheese. Sinful! If you’ve always liked the peanut butter center of a Reese Peanut Butter Cup, you’ll like this. If you pair it with chocolate spread you might get a Reese Peanut Butter Cup on bread experience.
You can buy Creamy Reese’s Peanut Butter for P272.25 at Hi-Top Supermarket. It’s P349 at SM Supermarket while most online stores sell it for P400-P450. It’s probably cheapest at Duty Free because I remember seeing it priced at US$5+ in Clark last December.
