Breakfast time with Nestle Cereals!

One of my kids’ preferred breakfast food items is cereal. It’s easy to prepare (they can do it themselves), yummy, filling, and well… healthier compared to some of the other alternatives.

So when we got this big gift basket from Nestle, we were all very excited. It was actually delivered while I was in the US. The kids were smart enough to know that they should wait for me before opening any package that comes in, lol.

The package contained two gigantic boxes of Nestle cereal (specifically Honey Stars and Koko Krunch), a hardcover notebook, and a cute little Koko plush toy. I buy cereals from the supermarket on a regular basis so these gifts are very much appreciated.

Whenever we open a box of cereal, I would always transfer the contents to an airtight container.

Transferring the cereal into an airtight container keeps the ants away and maintains the cereals’ just-opened-the-pack crispness.

I could already smell the faint aroma of honey as the cereal pieces came tumbling out of the foil pack.

These big Nestle Econo Packs can fill up the container to the brim and still have a little extra left over. I would instruct everyone to consume the leftover first (it’s usually good for 2-3 bowls) so we don’t get stuck with brittle cereal (it happens if the cereal is exposed for an extended period of time). Sometimes my kids actually nibble on these straight out of the pack as snacks.

Usually though, they eat it with fresh milk for breakfast. Sometimes we add sliced fresh fruits like bananas.

The kids are perfectly happy eating Honey Stars on its own with milk though.

Nestle Cereals are available at all leading supermarkets nationwide. I don’t remember the exact price of the big Econo Packs but I’m sure they are well below P200 per box as I’ve bought this size in the past.
