I got these Asian Secrets whitening bath products for review a while back. I’m so overflowing with soaps and scrubs since I hoarded a lot during my US trip last summer. It took me some time before I could finally try these.
Asian Secrets Indonesian whitening bath products come in these variants:
- Asian Secrets Bengkoang Indonesian Whitening Soap with Moisturizing Olive Oil
- Asian Secrets Bengkoang Indonesian Whitening Soap with Natural Antiseptic Betel Extract
- Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub with Licorice and Mulberry Leaf Extract
- Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub with Seaweed Extract and Vitamin E
Asian Secrets whitening soaps cost P70 each. Bengkoang (Jicama in English) is a turnip-like edible root crop which is a good source of vitamin C. Since vitamin C-rich foods help stimulate collagen production, Bengkoang can help improve your skin’s appearance and condition. I liked that this soap is imbued with a mild fragrance and there’s obviously no artificial colors. Using either soap variant during bath time makes your skin feel just right — neither stripped dry of moisture nor covered with a greasy film. It lasts a long time as it doesn’t melt easily even when wet.
These tubs of Asian Secrets Whitening Body Scrubs cost P130 each. The word “Lulur” literally translates to “coat the skin”. Lulur is a body scrub made from a variety of Javanese herbs, flowers, and spices which usually include turmeric and rice powder. It’s a Javanese tradition to treat a woman to this before her wedding day.
I was kind of surprised by Asian Secrets Whitening Body Scrub’s pure white and icing-like appearance. It reminded me of marshmallow creme. It’s quite thick, creamy, and pasty when applied.
You feel a scrubbing sensation as you massage the scrub onto your skin. Rice powder grains perhaps? You can see white grains. This product is great for exfoliation purposes so I use it all over. More so on areas that are prone to darkening like my elbows, knees, and underarm areas. I’m not really sure if it’s going to make me any fairer than I already am. What I am certain of is you will definitely have brighter looking and smoother skin after you get rid of the dead skin cells on the surface by scrubbing.
Reasonably priced and made of natural ingredients, Asian Secrets is a good alternative to more expensive whitening products. I just wish they smelled better, lol!
Asian Secrets Whitening bath products are available at leading supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.
