Today I shall review the last of the Althea holiday boxes I got back in December — the Althea Gold Sparkling Box. Like the Althea Red Sparkling Box, this one has both skincare and makeup products. As the box’s name suggests, gold is the common denominator that links all the things inside this box.
I bought this box mainly because of the Leaguertox Gold Foil See Through Illumination Mask, the Petitfree Gold & EGF Eye Spot Patch, and Onsaemeein Lumiere Gold Daily Cream. When it comes to beauty products, it has always been skincare over makeup for me.
Anyway, there are 2 eye shadow palettes included in this box: Chica Y Chico One Shot Eye Palette in Wine Burgundy and Day Drink. I didn’t bother opening them because I still have a lot of palettes currently in use. Touching these will just shorten their shelf life so I’m keeping them sealed until I actually need them. These sell for P580 each at Althea so just these two are more or less the price of the Althea Gold Sparkling Box already.
This is the Nakeup Face C-Cup Lip Tox-Tick in #03 Stealer. The packaging is just gorgeous. Unfortunately, I hate coral shades when it comes to lip color so I didn’t bother trying or swatching it. How I wish I had gotten #02 Marilyn instead! It’s supposed to be a 5-in-1 product — lip balm, lip plumper, lipstick, lip tint, and lip treatment. FYI it sells for P660 at Althea.
Then we have the Petitfree Gold EGF Eye & Spot Patch. I’m a sucker for eye patches because of my perpetual dark undereye circles. These patches are infused with gold powder and black pearl collagen that brighten and firm skin.
You stick on the curved patches to the undereye area. The circular patches can be placed wherever you need brightening and firming. I randomly put a couple on my cheeks. There’s a cooling sensation upon application of the patches. You leave them on for 30 mins before removing. They don’t seem to adhere as well as other eye patches. I had to repeatedly press the patches under my eyes so they’d stay put. I suggest not moving around too much while they’re on your face.
Here’s the other product that made me order this box… the Onsaemeein Lumiere Gold Daily Cream. I’ve always been intrigued by gold-infused skincare and this was my chance to try a few without spending too much.
Okay so the cream actually has tiny gold flakes. It’s formulated with gold and propolis extract for soft and bouncy skin according to the product blurb. Let me just say that this cream is heavy so I’d recommend it only for people with dry skin. It didn’t really make my face shimmer lol, despite the gold flakes. Too heavy for me even if I used it in January, one of the least humid months of the year here in the Philippines.
I haven’t tried the Leaguertox Gold Foil See Through Illumination Mask yet. It sells for only P50 a piece at Althea but it’s currently out of stock.
The Althea Gold Sparkling Box also includes sample sachets of the Missha Gold Snow skincare line. There’s toner, emulsion, essence, and cream.
I bought this box for P1,330. The contents are worth more than double this amount. There’s a good variety of products to try out. It’s currently out of stock but who knows, they might just restock one day as they have done with other boxes.
Want to try shopping at Althea? I have a 20% off voucher you can use HERE — maximum discount is P200, so you can make the most of it if you order P2,000 worth of items. Discount vouchers are not applicable for Althea Boxes though because they’re already super cheap. I use them to buy items I like that are not in the boxes.
