Althea addict reporting for duty, lol. This December, I reached a record high when I ordered 3 Althea boxes in one week: Beauty Tool Box, Red Sparkling Box, and Gold Sparkling Box. That said, I thank Santa Althea for sending me the Althea Black Sparkling Box to complete my holiday box collection. Yay! I’ll be reviewing all of them, starting with this one.
The Althea Black Sparkling Box is for the makeup enthusiast. There’s nothing but makeup inside. Oh I also scored an Althea Christmas Card for free shipping. Next time I shop, I don’t have to reach the minimum purchase of P1,000 to have my order shipped.
First we have the Son & Park All That Smoky Kit. I looked around online and this palette retails for US$30 — which is about the price of the Althea Black Sparkling Box (P1,460). So yeah, for the price of one palette you’re getting four (4) full-sized makeup products here.
This palette combines matte and shimmery eye shadows so you can create a variety of looks. Perfect for winter, more so for the holiday season! You can go anywhere from natural to smoky with your eye makeup.
Next we have AprilSkin Magic Snow Cushion 2.0. This product sells for P940 on Althea and P1,200+ on BeautyMnl. It features a mochi cushion which dispenses just the right mount of product when pressed with the puff. I pressed it that’s why there’s product in the center of the cushion.
You get the cushion in shade #23 Natural Beige. It’s the darkest of 3 available shades but as you can see, it’s not dark at all. In fact it matches my skintone very well. If I patted this swatch onto my hand some more you probably wouldn’t be able to see it.
I tried it on my face and wow. It has really good coverage plus the shade works for me. The finish looks natural and dewy so you don’t look like you’re wearing makeup. The only thing I dislike about this product is the scent. Korean beauty products usually have a light pleasant scent. This one smells matronly. The bad news is, the fragrance doesn’t fade fast. I could still smell it 2 hours after application.
The box also includes this RiRe Luxe Gel Eyeliner in #01 Kill Black. This sells for P210 in Althea. The top part of the pencil comes off to reveal a sharpener.
Drawing with it can be likened to using a crayon. It does go on smoother and has better pigmentation compared to a regular pencil. It’s waterproof too.
Last but not least is the Missha The Style 4D Mascara. This sells for P408 at Althea, but is currently on buy 1 take 1.
I like the long, slim tube.
I tried it without using a curler. Definitely impressed by how it lengthened, lifted, and defined my upper lashes.
See the difference? I applied Missha The Style 4D Mascara on just the right eye, without using an eyelash curler. This is definitely going on top of my dresser.
The Althea Black Sparkling Box is worth it because you get all these awesome products for a little less than the price of one (1) Son & Park All That Smoky Kit!
Want to try shopping at Althea? I have a P200 discount voucher HERE. Discount vouchers are not applicable for Althea Boxes though because they’re already super cheap. I use them to buy items I like that are not in the boxes. If you’re buying an Althea Box, just add an individual item worth P200 so you can use the voucher… you’ll essentially be scoring a free item!
